Bergen

Bergen, Norway is to be the location for the CATMI conference. Nestled among mountains and fjords, the city offers a beautiful backdrop for the conference. As the second-largest city in Norway, Bergen is rich in culture and history. Visitors can explore the UNESCO-listed “Bryggen”, wander through the charming cobblestone streets of the city center, and take in the views from the top of Mount Fløyen.

Accomodation

Invited speakers stay at Grand Hotel Terminus, with up to six nights covered by the organizers.

For other participants we recommend:

The conference hotel Grand Hotel Terminus at cost of NOK 1.350 (approximately EUR 125) each night, including breakfast.
Hotel Park at cost of NOK 1.090 (EUR 96, USD 105) each night, including breakfast.

Local transport

Local transport: From Bergen airport there is a convenient city tram. You buy tickets with a credit card from the automat on the train platform. For those staying at Grand Hotel Terminus, get off at the next to last stop on the line, Nonneseter. From there it is a two-three minute walk to the hotel. Nonneseter is a covenient stop for the other hotels as well.

Please avoid using a taxi from the airport if you can, as this is very expensive.
